Well according to the BBC, Tony Blair has set a date to be out of Iraq!!

Wait a minute isn't this like the 5th date we've had? And wait a minute don't we see news reports ever 20 second that say that Iraq is a mess they are all killing each other and that it is completely unlead. What the hell are we doing getting out of there, aren't we to blame?

Personally i think if we are stealing there oil, the bleeding least we can do is give them a good police service and health care. This is a mess. Much as i am loathed to take blame for this myself since I haven't really done anything, apart from benefited from our crimes agaisnt humanity, I still think we need to make ammends in soem way for what Blair and Bush have done. My be we coudl send all our prisoners over there to clean people houses, now we have no space in the jails.

Avril Lavigne about Britney Spears

April 4th, 2007

It is well known that Avril doesn’t think very highly of Britney Spears. Recently, after Britney had her breakdown and blamed it all on the media, Avril publicly stated that her colleague is simply weak! Well… if by weak you mean stupid and reckless, than I guess, sure, it’ll do! Avril had this to say about Britney:

"What's happened to Britney is all down to who she is as a person. If you want a piece of this business you have to be able to deal with it. You can't complain about the pressures, the paparazzi, the madness because that's the job."

Now, Avril, it’s not that I don’t enjoy gossip about Britney, because I really do, but you are not a qualified person to say something like this about her, because you are not on the same level of fame as she is! The fact that your statement is true, has nothing to do with the fact that it’s just a wild guess for you! You have much more candy to eat before you’ll be as famous as Britney Spears, and I’ll see how you’ll make out!

I Heart Stem Cell Research!

April 2nd, 2007

The news that scientists are now claiming that within a number of years (as yet unknown but perhaps about 10 years) it may be possible to grow a functioning heart using stem cell techniques.  Surely this is enough to stop the silly debate as to whether or not stem cell research is ethical or not.

The breakthroughs we have had in medical technology over the past decades have been astounding.  Back in the 1960s who would have thought that a successful heart transplant (never mind the double and triple transplants that we hear about) would be possible.  Now here we are in the early part of the 21st century with the scientific know-how that can one day put a heart into someone who needs it, without the need of someone else’s death.

I don’t know much about the ethics of stem cell research, but what I do know is that we have a lot to gain as a race by the skill of the scientists who are able to use these cells to repair and recreate parts of the human body.  There are those who say that we shouldn’t interfere with what God has created – well be that as it may, but God supplied some people with the intelligence to understand his design so well that they are able discover ways of fixing it when it breaks down, and personally, I don’t think that sustaining life is anything that God would complain about.
